Begin your day in Sakai City with a hands-on wagashi (Japanese confectionery) workshop at Maruichi Kashiho, a traditional shop founded in 1895. Guided by skilled artisans, you will craft delicate seasonal sweets using their signature house-made bean paste. One of their specialties, “Kurumi Mochi,” has even been selected for the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai. ​Next, step into history at the Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko, located near the former residence of tea master Sen no Rikyū. Here, participate in a traditional tea ceremony in a Ryurei-style tea room, where you will enjoy matcha alongside the wagashi you created. In the evening, conclude your cultural journey with a refined kaiseki dinner — a multi-course culinary experience that highlights seasonal ingredients and the artistry of Japanese cuisine.

In the afternoon, dive into the lively atmosphere of Kuromon Market, trying a variety of local delicacies. Continue to Dotonbori, where neon lights, street food, and the iconic Glico sign create the perfect backdrop for photos. Sumo Experience in Izumisano

Embark on a journey to Izumisano City to witness an authentic sumo performance. Get up close to observe the strength and technique of sumo wrestlers in action.
